The Future Face of Enterprise
What are the opportunities and trends that will shape enterprise in the future?
Views
To mark the fourth annual Enterprise Week in November 2007 we kick-started a discussion on the Future Face of Enterprise.
We asked over 50 entrepreneurs, business people, industry experts, social commentators, academics what they thought would shape the future face of enterprise in the UK. The result was this explosion of fantastic opinions.
Report launched
At the same time, we asked the think-tank Demos to explore some of these trends in more detail by inviting a range of people to write articles. The resulting collection was launched in July 2008 and is available to download. A massive thank you to all those involved - particularly this impressive range of authors. The summary sets out some of the main themes that emerged.

Richard Lambert, Director-General, CBI
"We need to awaken more young entrepreneurial talent if we are to remain competitive, and to meet big challenges like globalisation and climate change."
Simon Woodroffe, Founder, Yo! Sushi
"New technology has provided a fantastic means of communicating, allowing you to connect your thoughts with somebody else’s. This provides amazing opportunities. Imagine if every single brain had access to every other brain, business ideas would take-off in no time."
Annika Bosanquet, Managing Director, Wrapology
"We appear to be ignoring the emerging markets that are investing in their workforce and manufacturing seven days a week to build solid economies. As British nationals we want to know in which direction our economy is heading. Unfortunately, Britain appears to be promoting itself as a credit culture good at one thing only: shopping, shopping, shopping."
